I am always happy to get photos. I have some more updated photos, but since I am still in the hospital, I have to wait to get home where I have them on CD. Tamarah stands up now while holding onto somebody's hand or furniture.
I was hospitalized last Friday and today is Tuesday (2/27). I contracted Hepatitis A in December, got sick on Tamarah's birthday (1/12) while I was in Haiti. Normally, people get Hep A and get over it fast, in about 2-3 weeks. A few people develop complications. Guess what?! I had to be one of those people. Six weeks after first getting sick, my liver enzyme levels and biliruben levels are still high, though they are getting better/lower. I had several specialists working with me in the hospital. The fear was that the levels would shoot back up and I'd have complete liver failure. I am grateful for the care and precaution of these doctors. I get to go home today though.
Tamarah's birthmother had another baby girl. She had mentioned that she was not going to keep the baby because there "is no daddy". She is very poor and does not have the means to raise a child. If the baby is relinquished, I am planning to adopt her. So, I just had my homestudy updated.
Several ladies who heard about Holy Angles Hospice Orphanage have gotten together and created a yahoo group to assist in getting some of the children medical visas and to drum up some finanical and medical supply support. If you want to join in, let me know.
