I received a copy of Tamarah's adoption decree and its translation in the mail yesterday. Her adoption was final on March 5, 2007.
Now, I will drop off those copies at the San Diego U.S. Immigration Office to finalize her I-600. I had participated in the "Adjudicate Orphan First Program" which does the orphan investigation prior to the adoption being finalized (most adoptions this part happens after the adoption) and it is supposed to cut down the time post-adoption by one-two months. We'll see what happens.
Now, I am waiting for Tamarah's passport to be issued in Haiti. Then, she will have to have her visa physical and visa appointment.
I will be in Haiti from March 29th through April 7th. I am still holding onto the faint hope that I might be able to bring her back with me... One can hope, right?!
Update on Baby Erna: Her mother took her and has not come back. We'll see what happens. I prayed about this and I know that it is in God's hands. HE knows where Erna should grow up and HE has plans for her.
